5. Giant Rubick’s cubes. We stayed at the Pop Century Resort, and among the features there were 20-foot Rubick’s cubes, huge bowling pins, and a monster Foosball setup. Oh, and don’t forget the biggest Sport Walkman in existence. I actually had one of those growing up. What a trip down memory lane.

4. Cleanliness. This may seem like a boring reason, but Disney World is the cleanest, most attentive, and most organized place I’ve ever been. Our bags were checked through to our room, and on the way home we checked our bags at the resort. For every “cast member” you see on the street at Disney World, there are at least three behind-the-scenes. Every cast member carries around a trash-grabber. Despite thousands of people milling around with Mickey Mouse Ice Cream wrappers, there is no trash on the ground EVER.

3. Free Mickey Ears. One day we were just getting off the train at the Magic Kingdom, when a cast member opens up this huge garbage bag full of special edition, can’t-buy-these-anywhere Mickey Ears and gives them to every person on the train. And everywhere we went, cast members started congratulating us for winning our special ears. By the end of the trip, I felt like a first-class celebrity. (By the way, you don’t get congratulated for wearing your special-edition Mickey Ears to work.)

2. Impromptu parades. Can you imagine if, several times a day, a different and equally awe-inspiring parade floated by your office? I would be much more excited about work if I got to do that. There were at least 2 parades during the day, all with full-blown choreography and singing with all the characters. At night, light-laden butterflies, gymnasts on bouncy balls, and the majority of every other classic Disney movie cast paraded all over the Magic Kingdom every night. Even Ariel was there. How is that possible, you ask? Because it’s DISNEY WORLD!

And the number one reason why you should go to Disney World RIGHT NOW…

1. Travel through the space/time continuum. You would not believe where we went. First, we went to Mars. No joke. G-forces and everything. Then we went back in time to sneak back a very rare dinosaur right before the meteor hit and destroyed life as they knew it. Then we went into space. Like 5 times. Then we hang glided over California before we got into the limo to rock over to the Aerosmith concert. Then we breached the spirit world-a LOT-and picked up some ghostly hitch hikers. Then we went BACK into space because Buzz Lightyear really needed us to blast some Zirg aliens. Then we went to the American Frontier and dug for gold, and hit a geyser. Then we went to Africa, Asia, and South America just by floating down one river.

I tell you, Disney World is a magical place.
